Privacy policy

This policy explains how NJ MVC Quiz (njmvcquiz.com), an independent NJ driving-test practice website, handles information when you use the site. We are not the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission.

Practice and account information

You can practice without an account. The site uses browser storage (localStorage and IndexedDB) and a language cookie to remember settings, language, practice history, and progress. Clearing site data can remove local progress and sign you out.

If you create an account, Supabase processes your email address, authentication information, optional profile name, and saved practice records. Google sign-in supplies account information such as your email and profile details. We use this information to sign you in and synchronize your learning progress.

Feedback and AI features

Question feedback and contributed questions include the text you submit and any email address you choose to provide. We use these submissions to review and improve the question bank and respond when needed. Please do not include sensitive personal information.

When an AI explanation is not already cached, the question, its options, the correct answer, and your selected answer are sent to Google Gemini to generate an explanation. Similar-question search can send question or search text to Gemini. Generated explanations are cached by question and answer for reuse. These features do not need your name or email in their AI prompts.

Analytics, cookies, and hosting

We use Google Analytics to understand page visits, referral sources, device and browser information, and interactions such as practice milestones and support-link clicks. Google Analytics uses cookies or similar identifiers. A support-link click records an interaction, not a payment.

Vercel hosts the site, and Supabase provides database and authentication services. Requests to these services can include IP addresses, browser information, and technical logs needed to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the service. Providers may process information outside your country under their own terms and privacy policies.

Advertising and external payments

Google AdSense ads are not currently enabled. We are preparing a limited blog advertising pilot; the Practice experience remains ad-free. This policy will be updated when advertising is activated.

If Google advertising is enabled, Google and other advertising vendors may use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this or other websites. Google advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to personalize advertising. You can manage personalized ads through Google Ads Settings and participating vendors through AboutAds. Where required, advertising will be subject to consent choices presented before activation.

Coffee support links take you to Buy Me a Coffee. That service and its payment providers handle checkout under their own policies. Do not submit payment card details through our feedback forms.

Your choices and requests

You can practice without signing in, change browser cookie settings, clear site storage, or use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on where supported. Blocking storage may affect sign-in and saved progress. Clearing browser storage does not delete records already saved to your account.

To ask about your information or request access, correction, or deletion of account or submission data, contact support@njmvcquiz.com. We may need to verify account ownership before acting. Applicable privacy rights depend on your location; some records may need to be retained for security, legal obligations, or resolving disputes. Local browser data remains until cleared by you, the browser, or site functionality; provider-managed retention and backups depend on the service concerned.

If you believe a child under 13 has supplied personal information, contact us so we can investigate. Do not send passwords, identity documents, or payment details in an initial privacy request.
